Someone's probably asking why we're doing this? Why do we travel? Like, why for so long when you have a life at home that you can dedicate yourself to and develop?

Yes, we have the opportunity to definitely have a great career at home. You go to work every day, you have enough money and space. And you even sometimes have time to see friends and do things you enjoy. When you like something, you buy it. When you want to go on vacation, you go, it's also traveling, right?

Iveco at sunset... aaaah!

Sounds nice, but our reality would be that we'd maybe meet at home sometime in the evening. We probably wouldn't be able not to work completely, I'd probably think a lot about what happened all day, study, and Leo would probably just continue working at home. There would be lots of stress. This way we're more together. Although it's probably also quite due to the fact that we're more crammed into a smaller space.

We're more at peace now. Although not everyone would be. It's just that managing things around the van doesn't cause us such stress. When something breaks, Leo fixes it. When we run out of something, we just drive to get it. And we try to relax more, be outside more, move more. We have more time for it!

The sea around Greece in winter. It's not exactly warm here, but the atmosphere around is unique. It's wilder, clouds are constantly chasing. You never know what the next day will bring.

Because we're more together and talk and think more, we also realize more what's important to us. Without this opportunity we'd simply do what's probably expected. Graduate, get a great job, get married, start a family, and for the rest of our lives we'd just earn money and work on it. Which isn't that bad, it'll end up like that anyway, but when you have time to stop for a moment and think about what's important to you and what you want to have in that life, then there's less probability that when you dive into that life headfirst and work really hard on everything, you'll burn out from it. Because when something makes sense, even those moments when it sucks can be overcome.

And that's what this life gives us. More awareness that we're living for something and that we won't just waste our time and talent on something that will bring you "only" money. Sure, it used to be that you simply had to work hard to cover your basic needs. For us now really little is enough (and in a van perhaps even less), so we have more time to look for precisely that meaning. And for that I'm grateful to this era and also to my parents, who helped me build that foundation.

Thank you!
